I'M IN ROME!!!

When I left you last night I was on my way to watch the football, and what an experience that was. My heart was thumping all the way through the match to the point where I could see my chest beating through my shirt. Not due to the shear adrenalyn, but the fact that it was a bar full of Americans.

I'd just like to point our that I took this when the national anthem was on. He's not just about to throw out owt a sneaky SIEG HEIL!

In the bar before the match, I ordered some pasta. It was totaly foul, but (in an act of what I am calling Kama) I forgot to pay when leaving, so crap pasta 0 me 1!

I then had to get to the station, get my bag from left luggage and then find my platform. Luckly I had enough time once I had got to my platform, enough time for the police to do a "random" check on me. I think they thought I was with the Cubans that they had just checked and that my England shirt was just a clever communist ruse. The fact that they had guns made me feel (and probably look) extremely guilty, almost to the point of admitting to being a member of the Communist Party of Cuba...... Of which I am not...(shifty eyes)

The night train was packed and uncomfortable and I only got a total of about 2 hours sleep. I also got off at the wrong station due to tiredness and had to get the metro 4 stops into Rome.

I got to Rome at about 7:30am and after finding a supermarked and getting some food I dropped my bag off at the hostel. Check in wasn't til 3pm and I wasn't supposed to be meeting Louise and Becky (who were coming over for a holiday) until 2pm, so I decided to go find somewhere to catch up on some sleep. I spotted a homeless guy sleeping in a doorway and thought - if they're not moving him on from here, then I won't be disturbed. I went in the next doorway along and got some shut-eye (the French sticks from Venice came in handy as a surprisingly comfy pillow). That was until I was woken by the sound of lots of horns and engines. I was in the middle of a classic Fiat 500 car rally. It was awesome. There was over 100 of the little buggers. I want one now.

I met up with Lou and becky and after I had checked into my hostel, while they were checking into there's, we went for a potter about.

You will notice in the picture that they have a rose each. I did buy them, but not through choice. One of those pesky street sellers handed them the roses telling them they were a free and then demanded cash from me. If I hadn't have been so tired and more alert, I would have saved some cash, but I wasn't and I didn't. That wasn't the only time I lost money tonight though. After tea (which was an amazing seafood pasta dish) I saw €5 on the floor and asked a women if she had dropped it. She said yes. It turned out she was a filthy liar as it was infact from my own pocket. DOH!!

We then walked round for a bit longer and I bought us some icecreams at the Fontana di Trevi (as the girls had bought me my tea). Being girls they were well prepared and they had brought a birthday candle with them and put it in my icecream which was a lovely touch.

Unfotunatly I didn't get a pic of the icecream with the candle in, but here's the Fontana di Trevi.

And that goodnight from me folks.

Ps - I spotted a lass in mcdonalds that looked just like Cheryl cole (before she had the work done) she's the one in the right.
