I'M IN MILAN!!!

---- 17/06/10 ----

I was 30 minutes early for my train last night but it was already in the platform. I said my goodbyes to Lou and Becky (which was a bit sad) and got on the train. I had a bed this time, which I was hoping meant I might get a bit more sleep. There was a little glass of water and a tea tree face wipe on my bunk - which was a random little perk that I wasn't expecting. I didn't fall asleep until about 1am which was annoying, but slept soundly once I'd got off. I woke on arriving to Milan at 7am.

I was still half asleep when I started wondering round the station. I found the toilets and went in.

-WARNING-WARNING-WARNING-
Upsetting mental imagery imminent.

I sat down, and like a fool while half asleep accidentily got myself in the patented "Pedley Perch". For anyone that doesn't know, it's when your sat down and you put your elbows on your knees lean over and put your face in your hands. It's a killer sleeper move. You'll find yourself asleep instantly, in any situation. I was out like a light. It didn't last long though. I just so happened to be sitting on a toilet that automatically flushes. A sharp blast of cold water to the knackers soon got me moving. On a plus side though, I classed that as today's shower and was on my way.

I was too tired to walk into the centre (plus it was hammering it down) so I got the metro. Infact I took the metro everywhere today.

I went to the tourist information desk, got myself a free map and tried to go see the Last Supper (Da Vinci). I Knew full well that you needed a reservation to see it, but with not knowing the exact date and time I'd be in Milan, I decided to just try my luck. It was fully booked with no cancelations, so no joy. But here's a pic of the building it's in

Instead I went to the science museum. It wasn't great. Probably because I was tired.

I got the metro back to the centre and stumbled across a random little exhibition of architectural models of stadiums. It was pretty cool. It had wembley, emirates, and the chinese and London Olympic stadiums. As well as others.

I then sat in the main square, but started to fall asleep so I decided to get the metro to the station.

I'm on my first of 2 trains to Nice (where I still don't have a place to sleep) at the minute and contemplating missing out Barcelona from my trip. I'm starting to feel the strain a bit from all the traveling and not getting much sleep. I'll have to see how I feel in a couple of days.

Gunna try get an hour in now. Night!
